STIK, an incredibly talented local (Chicago) guitarist made available these full length studio recordings where he used a V18 head through a 1x12" cabinet.
"Some people know guitar assassin Kevin Paul from his past work with StikMen, the Blues AllStars, Chicago blues legend Bumble Bee Bob Novak and Detroit soul diva
Jan James Others know the man called Stik from his two indie solo CD's, Blucifer and Front Page Blues. Still others know him from his recent work with his band 1969, playing hits from the Woodstock era in tribute to guitar gods Jimi Hendrix and Eric Clapton."

PLATINUM AWARD for design & quality received for the V33 reviewed in the Guitar World magazine!
The Gabriel amps seems to always produce a stir when they are reviewed by major magazines but this time along with an exiting review made by none other than the notorious Terry Buddingh, the V33 received also the Guitar World PLATINUM AWARD For Design & Quality. THE BOTTOM LINE:"Judging from the vast number of boutique amp companies focusing on EL84 amps these days, it's clear we're in the midst of an EL84 renaissance. With its splendid range of colorful and lively tones, the Gabriel V33 is superb representative of this trend and proof that Western decadence maybe isn't so bad after all." Halted Bumblebee Scheme We've been revisiting lately the classic "school-bus" yellow vinyl that brought the Gabriel amps the well-known identity and we came to the conclusion that we should work on finding a more resistent and durable one. So we decided to TEMPORARILY pull the Bumblebee color-scheme till we come up with an alternative. If you are really sold on that color scheme, hang in there, we hope this fall to come up with an answer. In the mean time check the other great looking CAPPUCCINO and BLACKBURN skins!
name seems to be popping up quite frequently in-line with other notorious names in other amp reviews and articles all over. Another example is the "AC15" a fascinating article written by David Hunter in the Vintage Guitar magazine (March 2007 issue, page 42): "Over the past couple of years, the EF86 has come back into favor – particularly as used in the great AC15 circa 1960 – and outstanding new amps such as 65 Amps’ London 18, TopHat’s Supreme 16, and Gabriél’s V18 all pay homage in their own way to this [...] classic. And given the ever-escalating prices of original AC15s (it’s not unusual to see prices pushing $7,500), one of these newer handwired creations is, for many players, the best means of attaining a glimpse of that sound and feel without the risk of battering their pension to splinters on the road." - David Hunter, Vintage Guitar magazine, March 2007, page 42. received a glorious review in the Guitar Player Magazine (March 2007 issue) done by no other than David Hunter, the author of “The Guitar Amp Handbook”, former editor of “The Guitar Magazine” in London UK, contributor to books such as Aspen Pittman’s “The Tube Amp Book” Deluxe Revised Edition.
David has wrote a very favorable and positive review of the amp. It is a fun article and describes accurately what the V18 can do!!!

was exclusively used by Grammy Award-winning Guitarist/Producer (Dwight Yoakam, Roy Orbinson) Pete Anderson on the Guitar Center "Guitarmaggedon - King Of The Blues" compilation CD recorded at Little Dog Records. If you wish to hear the V18 in the hands of an outstanding guitar player, pick up a copy of the "King Of The Blues" competition Backing Tracks CD at Guitar Center in February.
In the mean time, these 21 Backing Tracks on this CD are excellent "blues-driven tracks, pulling influences from all different eras. Contestants will be judged on their ability to make these tracks their own - to tell their own stories. And as an added twist, the competitors at the Grand Finals will be performing their track with a live band!" [see an interview with Pete]
and 2x12" cabinet was used in a Vintage Guitar magazine (Jan 2007 issue, page 180) an outstanding guitar (Triune Cream) made by Singletouch Guitars: "For our tonal tryout, we plugged the guitar into a Gabriel Sound Garage V18 amp with the Volume, Tone, and Gain controls set to 12 o’clock. With the Triune Cream’s pickup selector in position 1 (bridge pickup in series), we were greeted with a full-bodied humbucker tone that would impress any Dickey Betts fan with the clarity in its high-end response. The next two positions." - Vintage Guitar magazine, Jan 2007, page 108 [read the article]
giveaway prize winner picked on 18watt.com Community!!! We had a real lottery machine doing the drawing, courtesy of one of Graydon Stuckey's friend. The happy winner is: Simon Higgs.
Congratulations!!! Read the thread here. We really do hope that the gathered funds will bring some help and support for Mark Durham's family (his wife Sheri and daughters Marissa and Jessica Durham). Our prayers are with them as they have to face a tough time through this Christmas without Mark.
"Coming Up To Breathe" recorded entirely with The V18!!! Mike Scheuzer used the V18 with the open back 2x12" (Celestion Greenback & AlNiCo Blue) to record all guitar that needed to cut through the mix.
participation with booth manned by Jeff Rubin!!! The Ampshow is an annual festival put together by Loni Specter. The show has a unique form since each manufacturer has its own demo room rented out in a beautiful hotel setting. Excellent to demo amps without being bothered by your neighbour, or for that matter - you bothering them :-)
is the title of the V18 review in the February issue of the Vintage Guitar Magazine. Bob Tekippe who wrote the article loved it that much that he bought it! Read what he had to say personally about his beloved V18.
is the "lighter" version of the V18. Has one single channel namely the bright side of the full V18. A versatile small amp that can do tonal wonders. Trey Hill of SONICFLOOD loves it!
with convertible back, makes its debut at the Sound Garage. A beautiful classic look with a great tone reproduction. The back is convertible, giving you the option of using it in a open or closed back setting. It's just a metter of popping in (or out) the middle section of the back panel.
